Meet Deborah C, whose real name is Deborah Chashi Nyalazi, born on April 28, 1992. She holds the position of the firstborn in a family of five, born to Evangelist and Mrs. Chashi. Growing up as the child of a clergyman, Deborah was immersed in the church environment from a young age. At just 12 years old, she began singing in the church choir, quickly becoming its youngest member. Over the years, her passion for music grew, and she eventually assumed roles as the worship leader and music director at the same church. Under her leadership, she led her team and congregations in worship at various platforms, including crusades organized by ministries such as Reinhard Bonnke ministries.
In 2014, Deborah embarked on a new journey as a recording artist, signing with the record label SSV Studios. Her debut album, “Run to You,” was released the same year, featuring popular songs like “Yahweh Mwaliwama,” “Zina Lanu,” “Run to You,” and “Jubilee.” Notable Zambian artists Karen and Stevie G were also featured on the album. The following year, she was invited as a guest artist from Zambia to minister at The Restoration House in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she shared the stage with Bishop Benjamin Dube and Minister Soli Mashangu of the famous song “Wahamba Nati.”
In 2018, Deborah released her second album titled “New Creation,” featuring hits such as “Lesa Mukulu,” “Mwebamushilo,” “Mulopwe,” and “New Creation.” Her music has taken her on tours across Botswana and various regions of Zambia. Currently, she is in the process of working on her third album, with her new single “Mwana Mberere,” a Tumbuka hymn, already released.
Deborah is driven by a vision to minister through music in numerous African countries and beyond. She draws inspiration from the ministries of renowned artists such as Sinach, Ada, Ephraim Son of Africa, Mercy Chinwo, and Victoria Orinze, among others. With her talent, passion, and dedication to spreading the message of faith through music, Deborah C continues to make an indelible mark in the gospel music scene.
